

Jess Dang is a Chinese American writer and director based in Los Angeles. She is a Film Independent Fast Track Fellow and recipient of the NewFilmmakers New Narratives grant for her debut feature Surrender, which premiered as the opening night film at the LA Asian Pacific Film Festival. Her work has screened at DOC NYC and the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and has been featured in The New York Times. Jess holds an MFA from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts and a BFA from Parsons School of Design, and her storytelling explores identity, control, and the emotional complexities of human behavior.
